Land of Illusion opens today with new attraction

Land of Illusion located outside Middletown opens for its 18th season today, Sept. 11, with haunts, a new attraction and live musical entertainment, according to the haunted park.

Land of Illusion offers one admission for access into four haunted houses including Killer Klowns, Temple of Terror, Voodoo Bayou Shanty and Dr. Psycho’s Haunted Estate; the one-mile Middletown Haunted Trail; and live entertainment on select weekends on the Stage of Rage, according to park operators.

Other attractions include Sniper Zombie Patrol and the new freefall Demon Drop, which require a separate ticket.

Zombie Sniper Patrol visitors board an army transport vehicle and take aim at “zombies” with a paint ball gun.

New this year is Demon Drop, a freefall experience, according to Land of Illusion. Visitors climb a pole with hand and foot holds from the ground to an elevated platform 40-feet in the air and step-off with safety gear to begin their descent.

Opening night entertainment Friday will be provided by 90 Proof Twang.

The park also features the Voodoo Lounge, a full service liquor bar for ages 21 and up, and the Creepy Café with dishes and snacks for guests of any age.
