Preble County attorney granted early release from prison

A Preble County attorney convicted of stealing money from his clients from 2007-2013 has been granted an early release from prison.

James Thomas Jr. was sentenced to four years in prison, but a judge has granted his request for early release after serving 27 months of his sentence.

“The defendant has no prior criminal record and had a good institution record,” said Judge James Brogan. “The court believes the defendant is remorseful for his conduct and he has taken the steps to address his drug addiction.”

Thomas was convicted on three felony counts in June 2014.
