A man who was arrested in Fairfield Twp. on Sunday after police responded to a call from a home and found the owner tied up in the garage has been indicted on multiple charges.

Arthur C. Morris Jr., 37, of Cleveland, was arrested at a home in the 5900 block of Beaty Lane in Fairfield Twp and charged with aggravated burglary, kidnapping, felonious assault and drug possession.

On Thursday, a Butler County grand jury indicted Morris for aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of felonious assault. He remains housed in the Butler County Jail.

The case has been assigned to Butler County Common Pleas Judge Greg Stephens, but an arraignment date has not been set.

Police were dispatched to the Beaty Lane home around 4:15 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call from a woman who lived at the residence.

The woman said she heard her father, who is the homeowner, arguing with someone. When the woman realized something was wrong, she fled the house and called 911, she told police.

When officers arrived they heard noises coming from the garage, which is where they found the homeowner bound and bleeding.

The homeowner told police he encountered Morris at the back of his house and that Morris struck him multiple times with an object before dragging him to the garage. The man was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Morris was released from prison in July and was on parole after being convicted of burglary in 2014 in Medina County, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
