The two men were known to the responding officer because they had been warned about the same solicitation issue on May 17. At that time, they were told to go through the proper solicitation guidelines with the city of Oxford.

One of the men identified himself as Jack R. Rauen Jr. on June 2 and it was determined there was a warrant out for him from the city of Hamilton.
The second man provide a name Trenton Slade to the officer with a birthdate in 1996, but dispatch was unable to confirm his identity.
After some investigation, it was determined his real name is Benjamin Taylor Fritz, 21. He was found to have two warrants out of Hamilton, a felony warrant out of Butler County Common Pleas Court and a felony probation warrant.

Fritz was handcuffed and placed in a patrol car.
Both men were taken to the police department and charged with commercial solicitation, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
Rauen was released on his own recognizance because Hamilton no longer wanted him on its warrant.
Fritz was charged with an additional count of obstructing official business and taken to the Butler County Jail.
