Woman tries to pass fake $100 bill at Oxford credit union

Oxford Police issued a warrant for the arrest of a woman who allegedly tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at the Miami University Community Credit Union on March 30.

One of the credit union’s tellers said the woman had come in seeking to exchange a torn $100 bill but was told it could not be exchanged because a large portion was missing.

The teller said she then told the woman it was counterfeit and she could not have it back.

The woman did not seem surprised or shocked at that and left the credit union, according to the teller.

The police officer recognized the woman from bank security footage due to prior dealings with her.

She was identified as Mandy Fay Gillespie, 27.

A warrant was issued for her for criminal simulation.
