1 dead in single-vehicle crash in Fairfield

A woman died earlier today in a single-vehicle crash in Fairfield

Police responded to the 3000 block of River Road near Bedford Avenue at approximately 4:50 a.m., according to Fairfield Police Department. The female driver, who was the only occupant in the car, was found to be pinned in the vehicle.

Fairfield Fire Department and UC Air Care responded, according to police. The woman was removed from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Fairfield police have not yet released the woman’s name, age and place of residence. The crash remains under investigation.
