Three people were arrested Thursday after a foot chase involving a Franklin police officer.

Police Chief Russell Whitman said the incident happened at 12:19 p.m. in the 700 block of South River Street after an officer saw what he believed to be suspicious persons.

“The officer saw them walking in a suspicious manner and told them to stop which ended up in a foot chase,” Whitman said. “This was good old-fashioned police work.”

Four officers and a Warren County Sheriff’s deputy apprehended the three suspects.

Facing charges are:

  • Tiffany King, 26, at-large. Police said they found a needle on King when they searched her. She was arrested for tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, resisting arrest and drug abuse/instruments, both second-degree misdemeanors.
  • Dustin Harris, 32, of Franklin, was arrested for obstruction of official business, a second-degree misdemeanor, and for a probation violation.
  • Ryan Berger, 36, at-large, was arrested for a probation violation.

Whitman said all three were transported to the Warren County Jail.

King has a $40,000 bond for the three charges against her, while Harris and Berger are being held with no bond because they violated their probation conditions.

All three are scheduled for a video arraignment at today in Franklin Municipal Court, Whitman said.
