Medical issue preceded man’s fall from balcony, sister says

The sister of a Middletown man who fell off the balcony of her apartment Saturday morning said he had been sick recently and he may have passed out before the incident.

Brandon Justice, 30, is expected to be released from Kettering Medical Center as early as today, according to his sister Melissa Kerschner-Broadhurst. She said he fell about 13 feet off of her balcony, injuring his head and bruising his lung.

Kerschner-Broadhurst said she was sleeping when Trenton police knocked on the door and asked if there was a man living at the apartment in the 400 block of Sycamore Road. She said her brother sometimes stays with her or other relatives in Middletown.

CareFlight landed at nearby Babeck Elementary School, and Justice was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Justice was then moved to Kettering Medical Center, according to Kerschner-Broadhurst.
