Visitation, funeral set for former Fairfield mayor and city council member

Funeral services for Fairfield city council member and former mayor Ron D’Epifanio, who died Tuesday, are set for next week.

He will lie in state from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fairfield Council Chambers at the municipal building, 5350 Pleasant Ave.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Winton Church of God, 6200 Winton Road. D’Epifanio will be buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, 2421 Princeton Road in Fairfield Twp.

 

D’Epifanio was in the third year of a third four-year Fairfield City Council term when he died Tuesday following a brief illness. He was 78.

He was first elected to council in 1995 and re-elected in 1999 and 2017. He was elected Fairfield mayor in 2005 and re-elected in 2009.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in D’Epifanio’s memory to the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League, P.O. Box 18146, Fairfield, 45018-0146.
