An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for the entire region from 2 p.m. today to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Butler County sheriff opens air-conditioned lobby

The lobby at 705 Hanover St. in Hamilton will be open to anyone from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Sunday “pending the forecasted temperature,” the sheriff’s office said.

Lane Library locations open as cooling centers

The Lane Libraries will serve as cooling centers for the general public today through aturday.

• Middletown: 125 S. Broad St. 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday; 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday

• Liberty Twp.: 7100 Foundry Row, Suite 234. 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday

• Monroe: 1 Tennessee Ave. 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday

• Trenton: 200 Edgewood Dr. 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday

• West Chester Twp.: 9363 Centre Pointe Dr. 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday

Middletown brewery closes

Rolling Mill Brewing Company, 916 First Ave., announced that since it has no AC in its taproom, it’s closed Thursday and Friday “for the safety of our employees and customers,” according to its Facebook page.
