Celebrate Obama's birthday with local political group

OXFORD — A gala to celebrate President Barack Obama’s 50th birthday will be held by the Butler County Progressive Political Action Committee Wednesday, Aug. 3.

The party will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the home of Asher and Sharon Seidel, 10 Oakhill Dr. in the Springwood subdivision.

At 8 p.m. there will be a live webcast with Obama from Chicago, where he will be celebrating his birthday at two events sponsored by the Democratic National Committee.

Obama’s birthday is on Aug. 4.

The party is free, and all Obama supporters are cordially invited to attend. Guests are asked to bring a bottle of wine, a six-pack, or a snack.

The Butler County Progressive PAC is an Oxford-based but county-wide organization formed by Obama volunteers who saw his election in 2010 as the beginning and not the end of progress.

The PAC supports local and statewide candidates, and it campaigns for issues like the repeal of Ohio SB 5 and of the voter suppression bill.
