Hamilton High students show appreciation for school staff

Students at Hamilton High School kicked off Staff Appreciation Week on Monday, greeting their teachers and other staff at 6:15 a.m. with some good cheer and even umbrellas due to a heavy downpour.

Students held signs and led cheers that brought smiles from those arriving to work not expecting such an enthusiastic welcome.

Sara Silva, of the Career Tech Center, said students from ASTRA, Career Tech, National Honor Society and NJROTC kicked off Staff Appreciation Week, which runs through Friday, with plenty of enthusiasm.

“They cheered and carried umbrellas for the staff as they exited their cars and entered the building,” Silva said. “Hearing the cheers from the students in appreciation of the staff was a great way to start any Monday morning.”

Principal John Wilhelm said the appreciation shown by the students reflects their character.

“We take great pride in a family atmosphere at Big Blue,” Wilhelm said. “It takes collective team effort to continue to inspire and impact the students every day. I appreciate our staff and their efforts.”
