Timothy Perkins, 52, was driving a 1999 maroon Oldsmobile Alero when it crashed into a mobile home at 12:30 p.m. Friday on Aspen Street in the Riverside Village Trailer Park.

A preliminary investigation indicated the Oldsmobile traveled off the left side of the road and struck a mobile home. The engine compartment caught fire, said Sgt. Tom Bloomberg from the state patrol.

He said Perkins was unconscious at the scene for reasons unknown at this time and was pulled from the vehicle.

Bloomberg said the investigation is at a “standstill” until the toxicology reports are complete. He said the Butler County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy, but no results have been released.

Neighbor Doug Best, who was standing outside, said he saw the car driving down the street at a high rate of speed when the car crashed into the side of the mobile home and burst into flames.
