More than 200 young archers from around the country will be competing this weekend at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

More than 200 young archers from around the country will be competing this weekend at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

New exhibit halls at the fairgrounds are among the reasons the archery championship is returning to Butler County for the seventh time.

“This year’s event has experienced incredible growth,” said Tracy Kocher of the Butler County Visitors Bureau.

The estimated economic impact of the weekend’s two events — the U.S. National Indoor Archery Championships and the JOAD National Indoor Archery Championships — is nearly $100,000, she said.

All of the events are free and open to the public.

Competition begins at 6 p.m. today, March 10, and runs through Sunday.

Tonight’s action runs until 9 p.m.; Saturday events are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday’s events are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Butler County Fairgrounds are located at 1715 Fairgrove Ave. in Hamilton.
