The owners of Main Street dining spot Offerings Holy Grounds Café announced Monday plans to close the eatery in February, about three years after it opened.

During that time, owners Felix and Kim Russo blended ministry and food service at their café at 215 Main St., Hamilton. Last weekend, Holy Grounds held its second annual Hamilton Boy Waffle Challenge. The café was also known for its soup, salad and sandwiches.

The Russos said via email they will be running a limited schedule to clear out remaining food inventory and sell items. The new schedule is: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays; and 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays.

All scheduled events will remain until the planned closing date of Feb. 17, including Friday music and any prayer breakfast already scheduled, the Russos said in the closing announcement. They could not be reached by phone Monday or Tuesday.

The West Chester Twp. couple opened the eating place, gift shop and community space in November 2010 in a formerly vacant property. It is operated as a nonprofit funded by the business operations. At the time it opened, Felix Russo told Journal-News he wanted to bring life and outreach to his hometown of Hamilton.

The impending closure of Offerings is the latest in Hamilton restaurant activity along High and Main streets:

• The former Riverbank Cafe closed abruptly at the end of July 2013 at 102 Main St. The space is currently vacant;

• Coffee shop Kofenya closed in downtown Hamilton at 221 High St., but True West Coffee opened a second location in July 2013 in its place. True West now has two Hamilton locations on High Street and at 313 Main St.;

• Pizzeria Pappa Luigi's opened in spring 2012 at 23 N. Third St., then changed ownership by the end of 2012 after closing briefly. It reopened, but closed for good in November 2013. ALL8UP Pizza opened in its place in December.
