A former Madison Twp. fire chief was arrested and jailed in a child sex case.

Ronald E. Miller, 69, of Madison Twp., is charged with two counts of rape and four counts of gross sexual imposition involving a minor, according to a release from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Miller was taken into custody and booked into the Middletown City Jail, the release stated.

“Crimes like these are always difficult when it involves children,” Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said. “When the suspect is a former fire chief, he is right where he needs to be, in jail.”

The Madison Twp. Fire Department said Miller has not been an active member of the department in more than 20 years in a statement posted on social media.
