ORIGINAL STORY:
The traffic lights at Main Street and Central Avenue in downtown Middletown remain out of operation after an outage began overnight, and the intersection is a four-way stop until they are repaired.
It appears that the traffic light control box was damaged sometime overnight, officials said.
Shelby Quinlivan, city spokeswoman, said the crews are working on the situation and that the traffic lights should be back in operation by this afternoon.
As of the noon hour, the traffic lights remain out of operation.
