Dillard’s grand opening celebration continues all weekend

The celebration of Dillard’s Liberty Center grand opening continues today and this weekend with a series of in-store promotions, contests and exclusive meet-and-greets and customizable fashions.

The department store chain on Thursday held a grand opening for the new, two-level store at the $350 million Liberty Center development in Butler County's Liberty Twp.

Those who stop by through Sunday the nearly 160,000-square-foot, two-story store, which sits near Liberty Center’s eastern entrance, can register to win one of over $40,000 in total value prizes.

Shoppers visiting the ladies shoe department through 4 p.m. today may participate in a “customize-your-Sperry’s-shoe event” with the purchase of any Sperry shoes.

On Saturday, the first 200 customers entering through the Liberty Way entrance starting at the store’s 10 a.m. opening will receive a Dillard’s scratch card as a special gift. Every card is a winner.

From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, those who purchase an UGG Australia boot can have a professional artist personalize that purchase with an etching design of one’s choice.

Saturday’s events also include a chance to meet Elan Savir, designer for ELAN International, and attend a special fashion show. During the event, which is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in the ladies apparel department on the second floor, shoppers can check out Elan’s collection of sweaters with an international flair.

Dillard’s customers on Saturday can check out the Maui Jim “Jimmy Junior” pop up sunglass shop and try on a favorite pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. The “extra-special” selection of styles are available through Saturday only, according to store officials.

In addition to service experts and the latest store design, Dillard's officials say another thing that sets it apart from other area retailers is its roster of exclusive private brands.

The new Dillard's marks the retail chain's furthest north Cincinnati location and the first Liberty Center business to hold a grand opening.

Joanna Stamper, who lives five minutes away in Deerfield Twp., said she’s been shopping Dillard’s for more than 20 years. Stamper likes having the store so close to home instead of driving more than 20 miles to the one at Kenwood Towne Centre.

“I buy everything at Dillard’s,” she said. “I buy clothes at Dillard’s, I buy bedding at Dillard’s. Right now I’m looking at Christmas trees because I need a new one.”

Construction continues at the Liberty Center project, located at the crossroads of Liberty Way, Ohio 129 and Interstate 75 in Butler County's Liberty Twp. The first phase consists of just over 1 million square feet of shopping, dining, office and residential space.
