A West Chester Twp. woman is out more than $4,000 after an employee for the roofing company she hired made off with her check and didn’t perform the work.

The employee allegedly convinced the woman to pay him instead of making the check out to his employer and disappeared without doing the work, according to police.
The company hasn’t received any money and the check for $4,155 was cashed, according to officials.
The incident was reported on Aug. 21 but took place in April.
This case is still under investigation and police conferring with the Butler County prosecutor’s office
