Preble County father and son arrested on drug charges

A father and son in the Preble County Jail after officials served a search warrant Sunday on Ohio 744 and found suspected drug activity.

A search of property at 12297 Ohio 744 near the Preble-Butler County line resulted in the arrest of James D. Bear, 25, and James R. Bear, 49, according to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office.

James D. Bear was arrested for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

James R. Bear, who was in possession of methamphetamine when deputies arrived, according to the sheriff’s office, was arrested for aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men are charged through Eaton Municipal Court.
