Poster signed by rapper Wiz Khalifa stolen from Oxford bar

Brick Street Bar staff flagged down an officer on patrol at 1:34 a.m. May 15 and reported a customer had stolen an autographed poster from the bar’s wall.

The man had smashed a frame holding a poster signed by musician Wiz Khalifa, who had visited Brick Street in 2008, according to employees.

A bar employee who was not working that night but was there with friends told police she saw a man tearing the poster as he removed it from its smashed frame.

She alerted other employees who apprehended the man, identified as Peter Frauen, 22, as he ran west on East High Street.

Staff provided screen shots showing Frauen allegedly breaking the frame and pulling out the poster.

A manager said it cost approximately $80 to frame and install the poster, but called the poster itself “irreplaceable” due to its sentimental value with the musician’s signature.

Frauen said he stole the poster because he likes Wiz Khalifa, according to the police report. Then reportedly told the officer, “Yeah, I stole it, but I didn’t get away with it so it doesn’t count.”

The officer disagreed with his reasoning and Frauen was charged with criminal mischief and theft.
