When the man entered the restroom, another man put what he believed was a gun to the back of his head and demanded money. The man relinquished his wallet to the suspect and the suspect fled the scene.
The man immediately reported the robbery to police, telling investigators that the subject told him he had a gun, but that he did not get to look at the subject during the robbery.
“He was afraid to face him given the shock of thinking there was a gun pointing at him,” said Capt. Mike Craft of the sheriff’s office.
The man entered the store, but walked out to the entrance a couple of times, then returned. He reportedly attempted to purchase a green dot card at the self-checkout, but canceled the transaction. On surveillance video, the man can be seen entering the restroom before the victim.
“He appears to be working up the nerve to commit this crime by his actions,” said Sheriff Richard K. Jones. “The investigators are making this case a priority until he is caught.”
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a baseball cap, blue jeans, a brown jacket, white sneakers and a football jersey. No further details were immediately available.
