Middletown police are investigating an incident this afternoon that ended with a shot fired outside a business.
Two people from the Dayton area were at Art’s Parts, an auto parts business on Oxford State Road, when they had an issue with someone in the business. When they exited the building, one shot once in the air, according to Shelby Quinlivan, city spokeswoman.
The two men ordered the wrong part for a vehicle and attempted to return it. They were offered store credit, but became upset by the offer, said Major Scott Reeve.
“He pointed the gun at the clerk,” Reeve said.
The men then took the part and ran outside, where one shot was fired in the air.
Police have identified the suspects and issued an alert for Dayton and neighboring agencies to be on the lookout.
