A crash that injured one person on B Street at the arches in Hamilton on Monday involved a stolen truck, according to law enforcement officials.

The crash happened about 6:50 a.m. and involved a pickup truck and a car. The male driver of the truck was transported to an area hospital for treatment, according to Hamilton police Officer Kristy Hughes. The driver of the other vehicle refused treatment.

A preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the pickup, a 22-year-old Hamilton man, ran the stop sign, police said. He was cited for a stop sign violation and remained hospitalized on Tuesday, according to police.

The owner of the truck, a Dodge Ram, lives in Hanover Twp. and was not driving it when it crashed.

When contacted by deputies on Monday morning, the owner said he last saw the vehicle in the driveway where he parked it about about 2 a.m. The doors were locked, but a rear sliding window did not lock, he said.

The road was closed for several hours Monday. The incident remains under investigation.
