Parolee accused of raping 8-year-old girl in Pike County

A convicted felon on parole is accused of raping an 8-year-old girl.

Travis Martin, 38, of Lucasville, was arrested Thursday by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office after he pulled into his driveway.

Pike County Sheriff Charles S. Reader said he considered Martin armed and dangerous, and that before his capture he had stated “he was not going back to prison” and threatened bodily harm.

Investigators found Martin after a few hours of surveillance around the county, the sheriff said.

Martin is charged with rape and allegedly confessed following his arrest, Reader said. It is alleged the girl had been abused since November 2018, he said.
