An Oxford cab driver charged with three counts of rape and three counts of sexual battery involving two women pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery, third-degree felonies, on Wednesday in Butler County Common Pleas Court.
W. Sherman Jackson II, 38, the owner and operator of Sherman’s Safe Ride, was charged with raping the women in his cab in early December. After attorneys met with Judge Keith Spaeth for about 30 minutes Wednesday, a plea deal was announced.
Jackson pleaded guilty to two counts and the other four counts were merged, according to court records.
Jackson faces up to 60 months in prison on each count and a mandatory five years parole.
He must register as a Tier III sex offender with the sheriff’s office where he’s living every 90 days for the rest of his life, according to court records.
Until he is sentenced on July 12, Jackson must continue wearing an electronic monitoring device.
The trial was scheduled to begin Monday.
