Man starts fight in bar, assaults four victims

HAMILTON POLICE REPORTS

DEC. 28

  • A theft was reported at Dabbelts Market, 410 North Third St. An employee told officers the suspect asked a worker to retrieve beer for him from the back of the store. As the worker walked back to get the beer, the suspect reached behind the counter and stole a cigar box that contained an unknown amount of money. The suspect then ran away from the store.
  • Four down spouts were reported stolen from a house in the 300 block of North 10th Street. The victim said someone forced entry through a back door, damaged the interior walls with graffiti and cut two water lines in the basement.

DEC. 30

  • An assault was reported in the 3100 block of Dixie Highway. The victim said someone hit her in the face and then another person join that person and kicked and punched her while she was on the ground. Officers said the victim needed six stitches to her forehead.

  • A 22-year-old man told officers he was sitting in the parking lot texting on his phone when someone approached him and punched him in the face "for no reason." The assault happened in the 1100 block of Central Avenue.

DEC. 31

  • A burglary was reported at an apartment on Hampshire Court. The victim said someone entered his apartment and stole 10 shirts and $60.

JAN. 1

  • An assault was reported in the 1500 block of Main Street. According to a report, the male suspect identified as "Paco" started a fight in a bar causing injury to two people. Officers said the suspect also purposely struck a third person's vehicle and also punched a fourth person.
  • An assault was reported in the 1000 block of Stewart Street. The victim said the suspect became violent and punched her repeatedly in the head and face.
  • A 34-year-old man told officers someone hit him in the head with beer bottles causing a laceration on his head. The assault happened in the 2700 block of Dixie Highway.
  • A burglary was reported in the 100 block of North F Street. A digital camera, a camera bag, a micro chip and HD lens — all with an estimated value of $658.48 —were reported stolen.

MIDDLETOWN POLICE REPORTS

DEC. 30

  • Officers arrested James Scott Ashenhurst for having weapons under disability, discharging a firearm in city limits and inducing panic. A neighbor told officers he heard a gunshot and saw Ashenhurst with a shotgun. Officers found a spent round in the chamber of the weapon and a spent round in the backyard. The incident happened in the 2000 block of Brell Drive.
  • Officers and paramedics responded to the 3500 block of Village Drive for a report of a possible drug overdose. A woman told officers her friend Kyle Bercik of South Broad Street wasn't breathing. She told police she tried to splash water on his face to wake him up but it didn't work. Paramedics administered Narcan to Bercik. When he awoke, he stated he used heroin. Officers issued Bercik a criminal summons for disorderly conduct intoxication.

DEC. 31

  • A theft was reported in the 2900 block of Roslyn Drive. The victim said someone stole several items from his vehicle, including brick laying tools, binoculars, knives, arrows and other hunting items.

JAN. 1

  • A burglary was reported at a business in the 3500 block of Roosevelt Boulevard. The female victim told officers someone stole a bag from behind the counter at the store that contained approximately $12,000-$14,000.
