Man indicted in Fairfield rape case

HAMILTON — The man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at her Arbor Pointe apartment in Fairfield was indicted Wednesday, June 23, by a Butler County grand jury for rape and aggravated burglary.

A 24-year-old woman was asleep May 20 in her apartment when Fairfield police say Courtney Haynes entered through a rear door around 10 p.m.

Police said Haynes sexually assaulted the woman during a struggle after she had screamed for him to leave.

Haynes resides with his mother in the same apartment complex, he said during a previous hearing in Fairfield Municipal Court.

He remains held on $250,000 bond in the Butler County Jail.
