Hamilton man cited for hitting house with car

A Hamilton man was cited for a traffic charge after hitting a Hamilton residence Friday.

Shamar Alonmdo Chapman of the 500 block of Seventh Street struck the residence and porch on Seventh Street at about 10:48 a.m. May 18.

Chapman was turning right from Caldwell Street to northbound South Seventh Street when he lost control, went off the road, hit a curb and then the porch of 221 Seventh St. with the rear of his car, according to a Hamilton police report.

The 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix then rotated and struck the front of the residence and a fence, according to the report.

Chapman was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control. The report does not say if there were injuries or give a damage estimate to the residence.
