Fairfield asks for help identifying ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ who stole cartons of cigarettes from convenience store

A man and a woman broke into a local gas station convenience store early last week, and Fairfield police believe they have them identified.

The couple broke into Winton Food Mart/Marathon Gas Station, 6120 Winton Road, at around 1:50 a.m. Feb. 11 and stole an unknown number of cigarette cartons, said Fairfield Police spokesman Officer Doug Day.

As with many of their break-in and theft incidents, the Fairfield Police Department sought the help of their Facebook followers. However, they asked for help from the public on Feb. 14 with a little music—via Steve Miller Band's "Take the Money and Run" — and humor.

Day said the department’s post of surveillance photos have “done well” but realized videos do better.

“We got tips that night (Feb. 14) identifying who these individuals are,” he said.

The two have yet to be charged, he said. It’s believed the pair are also possible suspects in other crimes in the area, he said.

The video featuring the so-called “Bonnie and Clyde” has seen more than 100 reactions and 220 shares as of Tuesday morning.

Anyone with information should call the Fairfield Police Department at 513-829-8201 or Sgt. Pete Lagemann at 513-896-8246.
