Attempted calculator theft + Target security = arrest

A Fairfield woman was arrested Thursday afternoon, Aug. 20, for allegedly conspiring to steal calculators from Target at Bridgewater Falls.

Toni R. Fisher, 21, of Lake Michigan Drive, allegedly cut four Texas Instruments graphing calculators from their security pegs from Target, 3369 Princeton Road, with a folding knife and two razor knives, according to Fairfield Twp. police.

Police report Fisher then went into the family restroom and dropped the calculators into a trash can. Another person was to pick up the merchandise from the trash can and leave with it.

Fisher was observed by a member of the Target security team. She was arrested outside of the store. She is charged with vandalism and possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies. She remains in the Butler County Jail and her bond is $5,100.

The total value of the calculators are $408.

Fairfield Twp. Police Chief Richard St. John said the case is still under investigation because they are still looking for Fisher’s accomplice.
