5th teen arrested in fatal shooting during Warren County robbery

A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Centerville man during a botched burglary outside a Warren County home in December.

Jackson Paul Pelphrey, 16, of Centerville, has been charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the Dec. 13 killing of Mason N. Trudics, 18, of Centerville, according to a press release from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Pelphrey is currently being held in the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center, according to the release.

Already Dakota Cox, 18, of Washington Twp., Montgomery County, has been indicted on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, conspiracy, tampering with evidence and possession of criminal tools in connection with the case.

Pelphrey joins three other juveniles charged in the case and held in the detention center in Lebanon.

Also charged are Logan Dean and Jacob Hicks, both 16, of Washington Twp.; and Kayla Carmack, 17, of Turtlecreek Twp., in the fatal shooting of Mason Trudics, 18, of Centerville on Dec. 13 outside Carmack’s home on Oregonia Road, east of Lebanon.

Dean, Hicks and Carmack are scheduled to return to juvenile court next week.
