1. Hamilton plans to turn parking garage roof into party space

In another move to make its downtown area more appealing to workers, residents, outdoor diners and other visitors, Hamilton is moving to open the fifth level of its McDulin Parking Garage downtown to those wanting to eat and drink with elevated views of the city.

2. Large flames,  heavy smoke after truck catches fire in Liberty Center parking lot

A vehicle fire in a parking lot of Liberty Center produced heavy smoke and flames on Saturday afternoon.  The fire was happening just after 11 a.m. on Saturday and was extinguished by the Liberty Twp. Fire Department.

There were no injuries, and officials are still trying to determine what caused the fire.

3. Motorcyclist killed in crash

A 40-year-old was traveling northbound on Riley Street near Van Horne Street when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.

Police said the driver lost control, hit a curb, and was thrown from his motorcycle.

4. Bravo’s newest ‘Housewife’ hails from Butler County

The newest housewife to join Bravo TV’s popular “Real Housewives” franchise is a Butler County native.

Emily Simpson, a 1994 Madison High School graduate, is an attorney in California and will appear on season 13 of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Orange County.”

5. Major changes coming to Ohio’s child support system

Ohio’s child support system, plagued with an outdated formula used to calculate payments, $100 million a year in unpaid support and non-custodial parents who slip into the underground economy to avoid wage garnishments, may soon get its most sweeping reform in decades.
