The 6-foot, 216-pound Sermon, who’s from Marietta, Ga., shared a photo of himself in an Ohio State uniform on Twitter with no accompanying caption, but the meaning was clear. His decision came eight days after he announced he was leaving Oklahoma after three seasons.
Sermon ran 54 times for 385 yards last season. He was limited to 10 games because of a knee injury. The previous season, Sermon led the Sooners with 947 yards on 164 carries, earning an All-Big Ten honorable mention. He ranked second on the team with 744 rushing yards as a freshman.

Sermon entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, meaning he can play right away for Ohio State in 2020. He has one season of eligibility remaining. He was the nation’s 80th-ranked player as a senior, according to ESPN.com and ranked ninth among running backs.
Ohio State had one healthy scholarship running back, Steele Chambers, when spring practices were postponed by the coronavirus pandemic. Master Teague suffered a leg injury in early March.
