MCAULEY 6, ROSS 2: Shelby Richards had three of the Rams’ five hits as part of a 3-for-3 performance in Tuesday’s road game with the McAuley Mohawks. Richards doubled and drove in a run, too. Shelby Stockmeier (1-for-2) and Marcy Warman (1-for-1) collected the other Rams hits. Ross (3-1) will host Edgewood at 4:30 p.m. today. McAuley is now 4-0 this season.
NEW MIAMI 11, NORTH COLLEGE HILL 1 (6 innings): Kim Gault struck out 10 NCH batters to record the pitching win. She also went 3-for-4 at the plate to drive in four runs in Tuesday’s run-ruled Vikings win. Mercedes Wethington went 3-for-3 for New Miami, while teammate Amanda Matheny was 3-for-4 with a triple. New Miami (3-0, 3-0 Miami Valley Conference) plays host to Cincinnati Country Day at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

MIDDLETOWN 3, HAMILTON 0: Host Middletown claimed a 25-18, 25-12, 25-16 Greater Miami Conference victory Tuesday, April 6. The Middies (5-0, 2-0 GMC) were led by Steffen Schemmann with 13 kills and six aces, followed by Jake Barbaree with seven kills and nine aces. Gabe Staton had 29 assists. Sam Bachmann led Hamilton with eight kills and three blocks. Kelly Ware and Dylan Hartford had strong passing through the set. Big Blue (2-4, 0-2) plays host to Lakota East on Thursday.
OAK HILLS 3, FAIRFIELD 2: Host Oak Hills rallied from a two-games-to-one deficit to win Tuesday’s Greater Miami Conference battle in Cincinnati. Oak Hills won 26-28, 27-25, 20-25, 25-13, 19-17. Fairfield enjoyed solid performances by Logan Brooks (five kills, 17 assists), Cameron Terrell (eight kills, 12 assists), Tim Hudson (six kills, five blocks) and Cameron Egbert (five kills, seven blocks). The Indians (3-2, 0-2 GMC) play host to Monroe in a nonleague match today. Oak Hills is now 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the GMC.
BASEBALL
CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN 9, LOCKLAND 8: Caleb Snyder drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Jordan Marsman with the game-winning run Tuesday at Waterworks Park in Fairfield. Jacob Schweier had two hits and drove in two CCS runs, while Marsman had one hit that drove in two more. Curt Perry was credited with the win in relief. CCS (3-3, 1-1 Miami Valley Conference) will host Seven Hills at 5 p.m. Thursday at Waterworks Park. Lockland is now 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the MVC.
BADIN 11, PURCELL MARIAN 0: Eric Schindler, Tim Kramb and Nick Sciulli combined pitching efforts to get Monday’s shutout. T.J. Nichting had three hits, including a double to drive in two and score twice.
CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN 11, LOCKLAND 6: CCS had an eight-run lead before host Lockland could get on the scoreboard. Ryan Arington had three hits and drove in four runs for the Cougars (2-3). David Perry had three hits and plated three more runs. Curt Perry doubled and scored, and Caleb Snyder had two hits and drove in a run for CCS.
TALAWANDA 11, NORTHWEST 4: Jake Hendricks homered, doubled and drove in three runs to lead the Braves over Northwest on Monday. Nick Pollit doubled and singled for Talawanda. Josh Combs went 3-for-5 at the plate with a double and three RBIs. Howie Smith doubled, and Dutch Grammel and Austin Huff each collected two hits in the win.
