MIDDLETOWN 202, HAMILTON 265: Abbie Lawwill shot a 4-over-par 40 to claim medalist honors for Middletown (1-0, 1-0 Greater Miami Conference) during Monday match with Hamilton (0-4, 0-4). The two teams played over Weatherwax’s Par-36 Meadows Course. Middletown will host Princeton today at Weatherwax, then hits the road to play GMC foe Lakota East at Green Crest Golf Club in Liberty Township on Thursday.

EAST 2, LA SALLE 0: Seniors Nate Hankins and Mike Hitching scored second-half goals, while fellow senior goaltenders C.J. Washington and Evan Peul earned the shutout in Monday’s season opener for both schools. The match was played at Lakota West High School. East (1-0) will host Milford on Thursday.
MOELLER 4, WEST 1: On a day when the Firebirds named their soccer facility Steve Cummins Soccer Park, visiting Moeller spoiled the party. The Crusaders’ C.J. Dolak scored two goals, while teammates Chris Nartker and Connor White each scored one. Firebirds junior midfielder Alex Wagoner scored the lone West goal.
FAIRFIELD 0, FINNEYTOWN 0: Isaac Kollsted earned the shutout in goal for Fairfield (0-0-1) in Monday’s scoreless tie. Fairfield returns to action Thursday on the road against Northmont.
BADIN 1, WITHROW 1: Kevin Keating’s goal with 14:20 remaining Monday gave the host Rams a tie in their season opener at Hamilton’s Virgil Schwarm Stadium. Sophomore Michael Kulifay came up with the assist. Badin (0-0-1) visits Madison on Thursday.

MILFORD 3, LAKOTA EAST 0: In Thunderhawk coach Amy Kreider’s debut, visiting Milford, the defending Fort Ancient Valley Conference champion, handed East a shutout. East hits the road Thursday for a game at Anderson.
TALAWANDA 2, WEST CARROLLTON 0: Lexie Froehlke and Taylor Cook scored the Braves’ goals, and Sophie Dillek provided an assist in Monday’s nonleague win. Talawanda goalie Sam Farthing had eight saves to earn the shutout. Talawanda (1-0) will host Western Hills at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
HAMILTON 9, WESTERN HILLS 0: Emma Rosenbaum scored three goals, Stephanie Baldwin and Laurie Phillips scored two apiece, while Big Blue teammates Caitlyn Rogers and Kari MacKinnon added a goal apiece in Monday’s shutout win. Kelsey Sams provided two assists, while Rosenbaum, Amanda Imhoff and Logan Paragin added one each. Mallory MacNamee earned the shutout in goal.
