Fairfield receives new football coach

Jason Krause is on the move.

The former Stebbins head football coach was named Fairfield’s new coach on Monday after three seasons as Middletown’s head coach.

Krause was 26-7 with the Middies, who were 10-0 in the regular season this past year, then dropped a first-round playoff game to Wayne.

Prior to that, Krause was the head coach at Monroe. He started his head coaching career at Lockland in 1997.

“It was a very difficult decision for me to leave Middletown,” Krause said. “But ... I believe this is the best decision.”

Like Middletown, Fairfield also is a Greater Miami Conference member. The Indians were 2-8 last season.

The only area head coaches to apply for the Fairfield position were Dan Cairns of Sidney and Jefferson’s Daniel Parks.
