“I am glad they are allowing people to be free and are open to being something different in the area,” the Springboro-raised shop owner said. “I want to be able to help people piece clothes together.”

Another clothing boutique will celebrate its grand opening this Friday, March 1, following a 4 p.m. ribbon cutting.
NEW BOUTIQUE COMING FRIDAY
Grace Lane Boutique, 335 E. Fourth St., offers a selection of fair trade and American made clothing, shoes and accessories.

Tim Morris opened his business, The Iron Dog Salvage & Antiques, at 508 E. Fifth St. in the Oregon District Saturday, Feb. 23.
The 5-year-old business had been in Tipp City, where Morris said he enjoyed his time.

He said he jumped on the opportunity to move to the Oregon District after learning that artist Loretta Puncer was relocating from the space to Front Street.

“I’ve lived two places in the Oregon District and my mother (Mary Jean Morris) had a store in the Oregon District,” he said. “I shop in this area. I eat and drink in this area. I know a lot of people in this area.”

Morris’ business sells custom-made bar tops, counters, tables and other furniture from salvaged steel, wood and other materials.
“The people have been so supportive in the district of us coming,” he said.

Locally owned roastery Reza's Roast plans to open its first retail coffee shop in the spring at 438 Wayne Ave.

NEW PASTRIES WITH A PURPOSE

St. Anne the Tart is set to open at 7 a.m. March 1 at 1500 E. Fifth St. in the
St. Anne’s Hill historic district.
The bakery and coffee shop will serve pastries, tarts, coffee and tea.
A portion of St. Anne the Tart's revenues will go back to the community through a non-profit is called "The Tart With Heart."

NEW BISCUIT SHOP
Salt Block Biscuit Company is set to join the District Provisions retail market at 521 Wayne Ave. this spring.
The building includes Glasz Bleu Oven, Jack Lukey’s Oyster Saloon and Caviar Bar, and Crafted & Cured.
The shop is expected to specialize in cobblers, cakes and other desserts as well as open-faced biscuit entrees for breakfast and lunch.
