CLOSING: Downtown bar announces ‘end of the great experiment’

A downtown bar is shutting down.

Proto BuildBar, 534 E. First St., will close its doors for the final time Saturday, Dec. 21, according to a post on its Facebook page.

Workers at the interactive bar confirmed the authenticity of the Facebook post. 

This news organization will seek additional information.

“It is with sadness that today we announce the end of the great experiment that is Proto BuildBar.

The past 5 years have been an incredible journey and we would like to thank you all for your support and patronage all these years. While bitter sweet, we are so proud of what together we accomplished. 

Dayton embodies the spirit of innovation and invention and we are so happy to have helped share that with a new generation of makers.

Our final planned day of operation will be Saturday, December 21st. We hope that over the next few weeks you stop in to visit us one final time to print, make, or grab a tasty drink. 

And finally, in the spirit of the many great innovators that adorn our walls, we too are ready to reinvent ourselves. Stay tuned because we have something all new and amazing brewing.
