What Christ Hospital’s new Butler County medical center will look like

The Christ Hospital Health Network has submitted building plans for the new, approximately 125,000-square-foot medical center to be built in Liberty Twp.

The development plans were part of an application to the local government for overlay district review.

The township’s Zoning Commission will consider the plans at its Aug. 3 meeting, to ensure they meet Liberty Twp. requirements. Additionally, The Christ Hospital is requesting sign variances, which will be heard by the Board of Zoning Appeals on Aug. 11.

Otherwise, the property is already zoned for commercial activity, according to the township.

Detailed plans and a cost figure for the facility aren’t complete yet, but the center will have a freestanding emergency room and helicopter landing pad, extended stay patient rooms and surgical, physical therapy, cardiology, radiology, urology and other services on about 17 acres off Cox Road. It should open by the end of 2017.
