Warren County administrator David Gully, who retired in August 2016 and cashed out $15,000 in unused sick leave and $41,195 in vacation. He was the second highest-pad employee last year.

An I-Team investigation this year found the ability to cash out unused sick and vacation leave is a rare perk in the private sector, though local governments are on the hook for tens of millions of dollars worth of these payments.

The seventh highest-paid was Jeffrey Everhart, a sheriff’s deputy in Deerfield Twp., whose pay included $45,142 in overtime.

Local governments make payroll with your money, which is why the I-Team has assembled and made available a searchable database of pay for public employees.

The five highest paid Warren County employees last year were:

1. Scott Swope, Warren County Health Department medical director: $204,660

2. David Gully, county administrator: $138,641

3. James Lawyer, mental health administrator: $134,639

4. Megan Manuel, Developmental Disability superintendent: $129,440

5. Brian Tinch, sheriff’s office major: $124,069
