A dump truck overturned onto its side in a crash in Middletown on Friday morning, closing a city street near the post office and city building.

The crash happened before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Verity Parkway and Reinartz Boulevard.

Multiple first responders were on the scene, blocking traffic.

The dump truck hauling gravel ended up on its side, spilling gravel on Reinartz Boulevard.

A tail light of a city of Middletown pickup was damaged, and a small Chevrolet SUV also was involved in the crash.

The dump truck driver was transported from the scene by ambulance.

Sandy’s towing was on the scene.
