A woman was killed in a single-car crash after striking a tree Saturday morning on U.S. 50 near milepost 18, according to a release.
Debbie Damron, 55, or Hillsboro, was driving a 2009 Pontiac Vibe eastbound on U.S. 50 when the car drove off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree, then caught fire.
Damron was pronounced dead at the scene, and three occupants from the car were transported with critical injuries by Air Care to Miami Valley Hospital, read the release.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Wilmington Post, along with the Highland County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Department of Transportation assisted on scene.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
