Butler County Educational Service Center misses deadline with Ohio Department of Education.

Southwest Ohio’s largest suburban school district opened today, but not all went as planned for 130 Lakota Schools families, whose children were to attend preschool classes provided by the Butler County Educational Service Center.

The families were told earlier this week the preschool students will have to wait until Monday to start classes at Lakota’s three early childhood schools — Wyandot, Heritage and Hopewell.

BCESC officials, who conduct the preschool classes in the three Lakota schools, apologized to parents for missing a deadline in applying for building certification as required by the Ohio Department of Education.
