Princeton Road in Fairfield Twp. opens after work to widen lanes

Road construction on a busy stretch of Princeton Road in Fairfield Twp. is complete and the road re-opened Thursday evening.

Work on the stretch of road between Jayfield Drive and Liberty Fairfield Road included widening the existing lanes from 10 feet to 11 feet, widening the paved shoulders to four feet, adjusting the roadway profile by flattening several vertical crests, and installing edgeline rumble strips, according to the Butler County Engineer’s Office.

The second phase of the project, from Liberty Fairfield Road to Ohio 747, originally scheduled to begin this past September, has been rescheduled for next spring, according to the engineer’s office.

Princeton Road will remain fully open through the winter months, officials said, though there may be some off-road utility work.
