Petting farm now open at Kings Island

Warren County amusement park Kings Island will head into the Memorial Day holiday weekend with 60 new family members now that one of the region’s largest petting farms, “Snoopy’s Barnyard Friends,” has opened at the 364-acre amusement and waterpark.

Park visitors will have a chance to meet these animals and attend a short educational show, performed four times a day, learning about alpacas, miniature horses, pygmy goats, domestic turkeys, call ducks, pot belly pigs and other treasured farm animals.

Snoopy’s Barnyard Friends began daily operations Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. through August 23. It’ll open weekends after that during public operating days August 29 through November 1.

Farm animals are provided by Honey Hill Farm located in Berry, Ky., according to park operators.

This news outlet first revealed Kings Island's plans to open the petting zoo in March, as part of an exclusive look at what's new this year at the attraction.

Kings Island is owned and operated by Sandusky-based Cedar Fair Entertainment Co.
