New roundabouts coming to Liberty Twp. in 2018

Two more new roundabouts are being planned for Liberty Twp. in 2018.

Township trustees on Tuesday approved cooperative agreements with the Butler County Engineer’s Office as well as contributions toward the construction of both roundabouts. They will be at the intersection of Millikin and Yankee roads as well as at Hamilton-Mason and LeSourdsville-West Chester roads.

The trustees also approved a contribution of $50,000 toward the Millikin/Yankee roundabout as well as $50,301 for the Hamilton-Mason and LeSourdsville-West Chester roundabout.

According to BCEO, the new roundabouts will cost about $800,000 each and construction is expected to begin in 2018. Funding for the projects will come from the Ohio Public Works Commission and BCEO.

BCEO currently is building a $1 million roundabout at Cincinnati-Dayton and Kyles Station roads in Liberty Twp. Construction started June 13 and is expected to be completed in mid-November.

In an infrastructure-related matter, township trustees approved a $37,484 contribution and cooperative agreement with BCEO toward the Hankins Road rehabilitation project.
