The free and public event is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the downtown center at 221 High St. Also at the event will include some of the candidates seeking the 51st Ohio House and 53rd Ohio House districts, and the Democratic Party candidate for Butler County Sheriff. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.
The event will make sure the voting public are “well educated” before heading to the polls, said Sarah Woiteshek Pietzuch, director of Miami Hamilton’s Center for Civic Engagement.
“It provides an opportunity for not only our students but for the public to put a face on the name of these candidates,” she said. “Our responsibility is a great one to provide an opportunity to learn and to meet the candidates.”

Miami Hamilton political science professor John Forren will moderate the forum.
The forum will allow each candidate to speak for 5 minutes about their respective campaigns, and then questions will be asked by audience members.
The event will start with the local candidates, then move up to the congressional candidates, and starting in alphabetical order.
Those who have confirmed their attendance at the event with the Miami Hamilton's Center for Civic Engagement include:
- 8th Congressional District candidates: Sen. Bill Beagle, Warren Davidson, Rep. Tim Derickson, Corey Foister, Scott George, Eric J. Haemmerle, Edward R. Meer, John W. Robbins, Jim Spurlino, Kevin F. White, J.D. Winteregg and George S. Wooley.
- 51st Ohio House candidates: Courtney E. Combs, Rep. Wes Retherford
- 53rd Ohio House candidates: Joe Mulligan and Suzi Rubin
- Butler County Sheriff candidate: Dale Richter
The event is free and open to the public.
