Few power outages remain after high winds this morning

UPDATE @ 10:30 a.m.: 

Area electric providers are reporting nearly all customers with power following some morning outages.

At 10:30 a.m. only 34 DP&L customers, 30 of which are in Montgomery County, were listed without power, according to the company’s online outage map.

Ohio Edison reports 23 customers in Clark County and less than five do not have electric service.

Duke Energy reports only 18 customers without power in Butler County.

The Wind Advisory issued for much of the region was cancelled at 10:15 a.m.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for many Miami Valley counties today could cause power outages in the area.

"In the wake of an ice storm earlier this month, branches are particularly vulnerable to strong wind gusts. Winds today will top off between 15 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph. This extended period of strong winds could break weakened branches, leading to isolated power outages around the Miami Valley," said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Jesse Maag.

Butler, Clinton, Greene, Montgomery, Preble, Warren and Wayne (IN) counties are under the advisory Monday until 3 p.m.

Some DP&L customers in Montgomery and Logan counties are experiencing outages, but they are intermittent at this time.

Logan County currently has 573 reported outages, while Montgomery County has 120 outages, according to DP&L.
