6 ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Butler and Warren counties

If you’re still making plans for New Year’s Eve, gather your family and friends. Here are six fun ways to celebrate the New Year, close out the decade and ring in 2020:

Kings Island, New Year’s Eve at WinterFest

Tuesday, Dec. 31, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Park visitors can ring in 2020 at Kings Island with New Year’s Eve at WinterFest. Join the elves of Tinker’s Toy Factory for an early, family-friendly New Year’s Eve Countdown featuring character interactions. At 9 p.m. there will be an indoor countdown and balloon drop for families who may not want to stay out until midnight. (The Countdown begins at 8:59 p.m.) The fun will continue with Charlie Brown’s New Year’s Eve Celebration from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Join the Peanuts Gang in this interactive party zone with character meet and greets, oversized lawn games and family-friendly music. Guests can also enjoy the final rides of the year from 5 p.m. to 10. p.m. on some of KI’s best-loved attractions. The 314-ft. magical Christmas tree will turn into a giant countdown with Snoopy’s Rockin’ Countdown from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the International Street Bandstand. Roaring 20’s New Year’s Eve at Jag’s Steak and Seafood

Tuesday, Dec. 31, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Calling all flappers and dappers, ring in 2020 at Jag’s Roaring 20’s New Year’s Eve Party. Start off the celebration with a four-course dinner, wine pairings, and a complimentary champagne welcome for $85 per person. Live music from My Sister Sarah starting at 9:30 p.m., Prohibition-inspired cocktails, and a toast to the new year at midnight. Dinner service will begin at 5 p.m., and reservations are required. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day Orienteering at Camp Timberhill

Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wed., Jan. 1: Those who enjoy spending time outdoors can enjoy two local orienteering opportunities. The annual New Year’s Day outing will return to Rentschler Forest MetroPark’s Camp Timberhill on Wednesday, Jan.1. Participants can begin anytime from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The New Year’s Day event is designed for everyone, from beginners to those with more advanced training. The activity will feature a range of different courses for various ages and skill levels. For those more experienced, there will be a New Year’s Eve night course on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at Camp Timberhill, starting at 6 p.m. Pre-registration by email is encouraged for the New Year’s Eve event. Orienteering is a sport that requires navigational skills using a map and a compass to move through series of checkpoints in a diverse environment, usually in unfamiliar terrain. “Glow All Out” on New Year’s Eve at Topgolf West Chester

Tuesday, Dec. 31, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Topgolf. Reserve a bay with up to six people for a night of fun and celebration. The reservation includes unlimited play from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., along with glow-in-the-dark party favors and a midnight fireworks show. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Ring in the new year at Grainworks Brewing Co. Ring in 2020 with nothing less than a Roaring 20’s Party. Break out those pinstripe suits and flapper dresses.
